GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS:

Club Fair

Student Ambassador and Activities Board members will be hosting a Club Fair event for all the students of NWACC. The Club Fair event will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Wednesday, September 2nd and Thursday, September 3rd, on the Bogle Plaza at the NWACC main campus in Bentonville. This is a FREE event for all students. There will be free snacks and drinks. See attached flyer.

Writing Center Workshops

The Writing Center Workshops begin this week. Come to one of the workshops about Understanding the Sentence: A Review of Subjects and Verbs. All are welcome! See attached flyer.

College Algebra Workshops for Fall 2015

This fall the Math Center will offer workshops on topics such as graphing calculators, regression analysis, how to study math, test anxiety, word problems, the ROWOPS program, and exponential & logarithmic functions. Communication Focus Groups

In May, the Employee Satisfaction Task Force used a survey to allow employees of the College to share their ideas about effective communication. The Taskforce has analyzed the results of that survey and is eager to explore some ideas that emerged from it in more depth. The Employee Satisfaction Task Force invites you to come to one of the focus groups designed to allow NWACC faculty and staff to share their ideas on effective communication. Choose the session that best fits your schedule:

Transfer & Transition Services Workshop Series: Scholarship Workshop

During this one-hour workshop, the Coordinator of Transfer and Transition Services will cover the basic criteria that colleges/universities are looking for in transfer scholarship recipients, share positive results from providing assistance with scholarship essays, and facilitate exercises that lead to a strong scholarship essay. See attached flyer for more information.

Bookstore Hours Update

Bookstore will be open extended hours this week. Monday-Thursday 8a.m.-6p.m. Friday 8a.m.-2p.m. We will resume normal business hours next week Monday-Thursday 8a.m.-4:30p.m. and Friday 8a.m.-2p.m.

Representatives of Procter and Gamble will be on campus September 4, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. They will be passing out FREE products to students and will have a shuffle board game and selfie station!

This year, we are participating in the Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s® on Sept. 12 to raise awareness and funds to advance the fight against Alzheimer’s disease. Currently, more than 5 million Americans have Alzheimer’s disease, and that number is expected to grow to as many as 16 million by 2050. Our future is at risk unless we change the course of this devastating disease. And there’s something you can do about it — walk with us.

The Taskforce has analyzed the results of that survey and is eager to explore some ideas that emerged from it in more depth. The Employee Satisfaction Task Force invites you to come to one of the focus groups designed to allow NWACC faculty and staff to share their ideas on effective communication. August Bookstore hours

Hi everyone! As Fall semester is approaching we wanted to let you all know our hours of operation. Our normal business hours are Monday-Thursday 8am-4:30pm and Friday’s 8am-2pm. However, August 17-28 we will be open Monday- Friday 8am-6pm and Saturday, August 22 from 10am-2pm.

Hi everyone! As Fall semester is approaching we wanted to let you all know our hours of operation. Our normal business hours are Monday-Thursday 8am-4:30pm and Friday’s 8am-2pm. However, August 17-28 we will be open Monday- Friday 8am-6pm and Saturday, August 22 from 10am-2pm.

During this one-hour workshop, the Coordinator of Transfer and Transition Services will cover the basic criteria that colleges/universities are looking for in transfer scholarship recipients, share positive results from providing assistance with scholarship essays, and facilitate exercises that lead to a strong scholarship essay. The Academic Success Center (ASC) will be open: Monday-Thursday, 8am-7pm, Friday, 8am-4:30pm and Saturday, 9am-1pm. The ASC provides tutoring, success workshops, full service computer lab, study space, and you can checkout materials to be used in the area, such as: textbooks, calculators, and headphones. American Diabetes Association

The American Diabetes Association is holding its annual cycling event on Saturday, August 22, at the Arvest Ballpark in Springdale and is needing volunteers. Any help counts and is much appreciated! This year, we are participating in the Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s® on Sept. 12 to raise awareness and funds to advance the fight against Alzheimer’s disease. Currently, more than 5 million Americans have Alzheimer’s disease, and that number is expected to grow to as many as 16 million by 2050. This course will introduce you to museum practices, archives, and the internal workings of public parks as well as issues in the burgeoning field of public history. August Bookstore hours

Hi everyone! As Fall semester is approaching we wanted to let you all know our hours of operation. Our normal business hours are Monday-Thursday 8am-4:30pm and Friday’s 8am-2pm. However, August 17-28 we will be open Monday- Friday 8am-6pm and Saturday, August 22 from 10am-2pm.

Book Credit

Book Credit charging will run through September 8. You can shop with us in store or online at http://www.nwacc.bncollege.com! Keep in mind that books for late start classes need to be purchased during this time frame as well. We look forward to seeing you!
